ACCOUNT MANAGER STRENGTHENS THE SALES TEAM
Our new account manager Mira Mynttinen joined the Cargo Handling Group’s sales team in December 2023. “We boldly set out to strengthen Cargo Handling Group’s sales and customer management, even though there is now instability and geopolitical tensions in the global economy. We look to the future, as always”, says Anu Kujansuu, Sales Director of Cargo Handling Group. Account Manager Mira Mynttinen strengthens the sales team with her competence.
CUSTOMER MEETINGS AND COLD CALLING
Mira is cheerful and positive by nature. She enjoys customer meetings and is not afraid to make cold calling either. In these first phone contacts with a potential customer, Mira thinks the most challenging thing is being able to quickly identify the customer’s need. You have to say your point interestingly, comprehensively enough and at the same time keep it as short as possible. When doing sales, Mira has a sense of style and sensitivity: the right timing of the customer encountering is everything. All kind of pushing, hustling and too aggressive sales style is also a no-no. Besides working in sales, Mira will take responsibility for some of the company’s key accounts in the future.
VALUABLE CUSTOMER PERSPECTIVE FROM LOGISTICS PURCHASING
Mira’s previous work history is in the purchasing side of logistics and in the banking industry. Mira brings a fresh and valuable perspective to our sales team. Her background is great for customer relationship management: Mira has her focus strictly on the customers. In her previous work, Mira has been on the client’s side in logistics purchasing and organizing bidding for transport and forwarding services. From the customer’s point of view, it is clear that to be successful, a logistics company must tailor its services to suit the customer’s business. We are on the wrong path if the company just focuses on doing things the way they have always done.
FINDING A SOLUTION IS FASCINATING
“We have to find a solution to the customer’s logistics problem, and that’s the most interesting part of my job,” says Mira. Cargo Handling Group is a traditional logistics company in the sense that many of our company’s logistics services are still completely in our own hands and we do not only do service brokering. We have our own warehouse workers doing warehouse logistics, and transport is taken care by the drivers of trucking company TransPeltola, which is part of Cargo Handling Group. Our forwarders are responsible for customs clearance and forwarding in import and export. Cargo Handling Group’s sales staff is therefore often supported by their trusted colleagues from our own company, and help is always at hand. It is easy to promise the customer a successful logistics solution when the professionals from your own company are carrying out all the tasks themselves. Finding a solution is appealing.
